
After spending around 17 hours stuck on a narrow ledge more than 100 feet down a cliff in Dickson County,Tennessee, United States, a 5-year-old dog is making a full recovery following a difficult rescue involving four fire agencies.On Thursday nite, Carl, a 30-pound Lagotto Romagnolo, and his owner, Scott Grissom, were at a friend’s property off Timber Ridge Road, WKRN TV reports.Carl had spent the evening running and swimming in the creek with other canines, according to Grissom, before the group headed on their way to a property viewing point.Carl was nowhere to be seen when it was time to depart.Carl spent the evening running with other dogs and swimming in the creek, according to Grissom, before the party made their way to a property viewing point.Carl was nowhere to be found when it was time to depart.Carl spotted himself around 120 feet down the bluff on a ledge. The entire cliff, according to fire officials, is roughly 200 feet from Jones Creek below.The stranded dog was eventually rescued by firefighters from the City of Dickson, Ashland City, Charlotte, and Harpeth Ridge fire departments.The Special Operations Response Team from Dickson Fire descended the cliff using a high-angle rope rescue technique. Rescuers were able to locate Carl and plan their course before over the edge thanks to the drone footage, according to Fire Marshal Mike Osman.After securing Carl inside a duffel bag, rescuers dragged him back up the bluff.
