The new Guinness World Record holder for the longest natural beard on a living person (male) is Matthew Hey from the United States. With his 5 ft 3 in (1.603 m) lock, Matthew recently won the championship, greatly outpacing the former record holder, Rudolf Martino (USA), with his 3 ft 6 in (1.06 m) facial hair. Matthew, a citizen of Baldwin City, Kansas, USA, is delighted to have a record-breaking beard since he hasn’t cut his curly brown hair in more than 20 years.According to Matthew, he began growing his beard out about 20 years ago when some children asked him to braid it and he ended up enjoying the look.Eventually, the braid matted into a lock and started to grow by around 3–4 inches (7–10 cm) every year. Eventually, it was long enough for him to tie it around his waist like a beard belt.
