A K-9 from the Grand Rapids Police Department is recovering after surgery due to an odd snack.According to Austin Diekevers, Rocco’s handler, he prepared some vintage beef sandwiches in a crock pot.He dumped it over his deck, and some of the crock pot juice ended up on some of his landscaping rocks, midmichigannow.com reports. Normally, they feed their chickens the scraps.Rocco was acting normally for a day.But Diekevers said to have noticed Rocco wasn’t eating as much shortly after.Diekevers took Rocco to Byron Center’s Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital.X-rays revealed that Rocco would require surgery to remove all of the rocks that were stuck in his stomach.Rocco was in the hospital for almost a day as he recovered.
