At the age of 68 years, stunt performer Yvette Ferguson from Canada has become the oldest person in history to do a full body burn stunt after being doused in a skin-protectant gel and soaked in accelerant. On March 14, 2024, while filming a scene for the sixth Final Destination film, Bloodlines (2025), she portrayed a terrified diner fleeing a collapsing glass floor only to be set on fire by a chef’s kitchen blowtorch, running around the restaurant while on fire. She dressed up two layers of clothing drenched in the heat-resistant gel on top of a bottom layer of Nomex flame-resistant apparel. In order to protect her skin, Yvette is finally sprayed all over with the same gel and drenched in a unique accelerant concoction that ignites at the touch of a flame. She said that she didn’t care about the smoking tendrils that sparked over her clothes and hair as she raced around the stage, only concentrating on keeping on her mark and following the cameras’ path.
