
Texas’s Real County Sheriff’s Office reported Gracie the Giraffe missing on June 22 afternoon. In a post, the sheriff’s office said that Gracie had round ears and offered a $5,000 reward for any information that led to her capture and safe return. Gracie was seen meandering through the Hill Country brush on a game camera located west of the town of Leakey.Gracie’s owner and a pilot found her during an airborne search on June 27 afternoon, more than 72 hours after the first missing report, according to the sheriff’s office, ABC13 reports. At Cedar Hollow Ranch, four miles south of her residence, she was discovered.Sheriff Nathan T. Johnson reported that Gracie’s owner worked together with a veterinarian to form a team to securely bring the stray giraffe back to its home. How Gracie got lost from Cedar Hollow Ranch wasn’t revealed by the authorities.Owning exotic animals like giraffes is permitted by Texas law.
