A call about an opossum hanging from fishing line above the water at South Fork Trail in Lincolnton, North Carolina, was recently received by the Carolina Wildlife Conservation Center hotline.According to Carolina Wildlife Conservation Center Facebook page, the opossum was over ten feet above the water. Rachel, the hospital manager and wildlife rehabilitator at Caroline Wildlife Conservation Center scaled the tree over the water and gently dragged the animal to safety. The hook was removed while sedated at their wildlife hospital after an X-ray was taken. The animal was probably hanging there for more than a day because she was dehydrated and emaciated.
