
On October 3, officials from the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth (GPC) confirmed that Ian Paton, a plant nursery owner and seasoned gourd grower from Hampshire, UK, had set a new world record with 1,295.8 kg (2,856 pound 12.8 oz) pumpkin.It weighs nearly 20 kg (65 pound) more than the enormous squash that set a world record for him and his twin brother, Stuart, last year—a specimen they lovingly called “Muggle.”At a GPC weigh-off event in Wargrave, Berkshire, UK in October 2025, the twin brothers displayed a massive gourd weighing 1,278.8 kg (2,819 lb 4 oz). As a result, they overtook Travis Gienger of Minnesota, USA, a seasoned US pumpkin pro who set records in 2023.
