
The Boise Police Department (BPD), Idaho, United States has charged two suspects with animal cruelty after they abandoned animals in a hot moving truck.A dog was allegedly confined in a moving truck, according to police, who were called to a truck stop in the 4000 block of S. Broadway Ave. near Interstate 84 last Thursday, July 23, shortly after 6 p.m. Heavy panting was heard from the rear of the truck, according to the first responding officer, KTVB7 reports.The dog was in the truck “for at least 20 minutes” before cops arrived, according to BPD, and the temperature outdoors was around 98°F at the time.Officers found two cages with a dog and a cat inside when they unlocked the back of the trunk. It was “extremely hot” inside the truck, according to the police, and both animals were in distress.The suspects reportedly returned to their truck at 7 p.m. on July 23, almost an hour after the appeal for help, and officers made contact with them. Both suspects were accused of misdemeanor charges of cruel animal transportation, according to the BPD.
