Police in Bauchi,Nigeria, have arrested a 50-year-old man named Nuru Isah on suspicion of killing Wasila Abdullahi, his second wife, who is 24 years old.
According to police,a violent confrontation broke out between Abdullahi and Isah, a businessman at Central Market Bauchi, over the handling of fruits and food ingredients used to break the Ramadan fast.
Initial investigations reveal that the suspect, Nuru Isah, is charged with striking his wife with a cane, causing her to collapse and lose consciousness at their married home. After being taken to Abubakar Tafawa Belewa University Teaching Hospital, ATBUTH Bauchi, the victim’s death was confirmed by medical staff.
After a thorough investigation, the Bauchi State Police Command has detained the culprit and recovered the assault cane as evidence.
