
A man in Thailand’s Chonburi province had an allergy to raw fermented fish (plara). He had trouble breathing after his wife ordered papaya salad with fish. He killed her with a durian peeling knife after becoming enraged.The woman who had been repeatedly stabbed in the upper arm, shoulder, and ribs was at a durian stall at Nong Prue Old Market in Ban Bueng District, Chonburi Province. Rescue personnel attempted CPR on her, Channel 7 News, Thailand reports. Later, in the hospital, she died.Four bloodstained knives were found and the suspect was taken into custody. He admitted to having a raw fish allergy, saying that eating it tightens his chest and makes breathing difficult. After treating him multiple times, the doctors determined that he had a severe allergy and warned that taking anti-allergy medication immediately could be deadly.
