
According to the Western Australia Police Force, a diver died on May 16, after being bitten by a shark off Rottnest Island, which is near Australia’s southwest coast.The 38-year-old Steven Mattaboni had been spearfishing near Horseshoe Reef with a companion. A 4-5-meter great white shark had been seen nearby before to the fatal incident, according to lifeguards.Despite the frantic efforts of emergency responders to save his life, he died soon after.After Steven was bitten on both lower legs, his friends grabbed him out of the water and hurried him back to shore, where paramedics frantically tried to save his life for roughly half an hour on the jetty, Perth Now reports.
