According to Centre for Human Rights in Iran( CHRI), Millions of children who are subjected to abuses including sexual abuses, rampant child marriage, child labour and execution of minor differences which is prohibited under international.law is still prevalent in Iran.
CHRI fact sheet shows Iran is the world leader in executions of juvenile offenders; at least 7 were executed in 2018 and over 90 are currently on death row.
Girls can be married at age 13, younger with father and judge’s consent. 17% of Iranian girls are married under age 18; 6% between ages 10 and 14. 40,404 marriages for girls under the age of 15 was registered in 2015 and 17 % girls married before age of 18.
There are around 7 million child labourers in Iran though United Nations data shows that there are 3 million child laborers in the country.Children of 2 million undocumented migrants used widely for child labour.
Around 200,000 street children in Iran’s urban centers. Street children are highly vulnerable for sexual or physical abuse,sex trafficking, infectious or sexual diseases.
