In a brand-new documentary, Sultan Kösen, a Guinness World Records holder, will defend his title as the tallest man.
According to Guinness World Records , The World’s Tallest Man: The Next Chapter will debut on Channel 4 in the UK on May 4 and on TLC in the US on April 8.
It follows the former farmer as he returns to London, UK, for a series of medical examinations from his home in Turkey.
Sultan’s record-breaking height of 8 feet 1 inch (246.5 cm) makes him the tallest man and person in the world in 2009.
Later on, he reached 8 feet 2.8 inches (251 cm) in height. However, a rare pituitary tumor that required life-saving surgery is what gave him his towering stature.
“Traveling back to London, Sultan now faces two crucial tests that could shape the next chapter,” stated Stuart Clarke, executive producer and director of the new documentary. His mobility is threatened by persistent pain, so doctors must evaluate the effects of years of weight, strain, and gravity on his massive frame.
Sultan’s record may be under threat by two competitors at the same time. Guinness World Records will measure him once more to see if he still maintains the title that initially made him famous throughout the world. However, this movie delves into the life narrative of the tallest man on Earth, going beyond the record books.
