After being taken out, cleaned, and inspected, it was put back into a ready-made artificial hollow. The Khao Yai Wildlife and Environment Conservation Group, directed by Abbot Kampanat, the Hornbill Research and Conservation Foundation, and Dr. Golf, a veterinarian from Premier Khao Yai Animal Hospital, worked together to rescue the baby great Hornbill.The newborn chick was trapped in the dirt within a 20-meter-high tree hollow in Mu Si Subdistrict, and officials used ropes to rappel up and rescue it. The conservation team noticed the mother bird circling, unable to provide food for her young.Veterinarians from Premier Khao Yai Animal Hospital are weary and stranded in the mud with their medical equipment. In a flash, they took the chick out of the nest, put it in a cloth bag, and lowered it. After that, the chick was brought to the vet and given injections.Officials rappelled the chick into the artificial nest and back down once its condition improved. To the delight of all those involved in this rescue, the mother bird later brought food to feed the baby within the temporary nest, Channel 7 News, Thailand reports.
