Switzerland’s national dog, the St. Bernard is named after The monk who founded a hospice to care for travelers on the dangerous paths over the Swiss Alps in the tenth century. They are 28 to 35 inches (71 to 88 cm) in height, weigh 64 to 129 kg (141 to 284 pound), and have an average lifespan of 8 to 10 years.Saint Bernards are friendly with children and loyal to their families.They are so gentle and patient.
