
Shikoku Inu dogs are native to the mountainous regions of Japan’s Shikoku Island.They are medium in stature, have short, upward-curling tails, pointy ears, and thick hair.The coat colors of this dog breed are sesame, red sesame, and black sesame. Its outside coat is harsh and straight, while its undercoat is soft and dense.They weigh between 15 to 24 kg (35 and 55 pounds), are 17 to 22 inches ( 43 to 55 cm) tall, and their average lifespan 13 to 15 years.Although they are calm and loyal to their family, they are usually not ideal for homes with small children or other pets.As they are active dogs, they need regular exercise and mental stimulation.
