The Shetland Sheepdog or Sheltie has its origins in the Isles of Shetland, which are located off Scotland’s northeast coast.The breed graceful, balanced, and agile.Its long, harsh outer coat and its dense, soft undercoat make up its double coat.Sable and white, tricolor, blue merle, black and white, black and tan are some of the colors of their coats.They weigh 7 to 11 kg (15 to 24 pound), are between 12 to 16 inches (33 and 41 cm) in height, and average lifespan 12 to 14 years.They are energetic, intelligent herding dogs.
