Originally used as a pointing dog in Denmark, the Old Danish Pointer (Gammel Dansk Hønsehund) is a medium-sized, robust dog.The coat is thick, dense and short. They are white with brown patterns, which include a number of large dots and specks.They weigh between 21 to 23 inch (54 and 60 cm) for males and 19 to 22 cm (50 to 56 cm) for females, weigh between 30 and 35 kg (66 to 77 pound) for males and 26 to 31 kg ( 57 to 68 pound) for females, and have an average lifespan of 11 to 14 years.They are loyal,friendly and ideal family dogs.Even though they are medium-energy dogs, they still need regular exercise and mental stimulation.
