At the TCS London Marathon on April 26, Simon Fannon, a marathon runner from the United Kingdom, claimed the Guinness World Records title for the longest scarf crocheted while running a marathon after creating an 18-foot-3-inch (5.59-meter) multicolored scarf while competing.Simon stated in his application to Guiness World Records that he was motivated to set the record in order to openly encourage men to knit.He added that he accepted the challenge in order to generate funds for charitable causes.
