Traditional tribal shawls come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be found throughout Manipur and India. The national and international markets are flooded with these shawls. Traditionally, indigenous women from the Meitei, Kabui, Kuki, Thang Khul, Paite, and Hmar tribes have worked in this field. There are no direct railway services to Imphal, Manipur’s capital city, if you want to visit the state. Tourists can, however, travel by bus or plane from Imphal to Guwahati or Dimapur, the nearest train stations.
