A 63-year old woman died after being struck by her own vehicle. It happened on on June 10 night in the Madison Ridge Apartments parking lot in Indian Land, South Carolina.Margaret McWeeney stopped her car and got out, but she didn’t realize it was still in reverse, according to officials. She got back in as it started rolling backward, but she accidentally hit the gas pedal rather than the brake.According to the coroner’s office, the car accelerated in reverse, collecting the driver and colliding with several nearby cars before coming to a rest.At the scene, McWeeney was declared dead, WCCB Charlotte reports.
