Over the weekend, a horse that had fallen through a pedestrian bridge in Patuxent River State Park was rescued.Around 1:40 p.m., rescue personnel received a call about an injured person and went on out into the route. While looking for the person, they found the horse. The horse was stuck after its leg fell through a wooden pedestrian bridge.For hours, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue worked to set the horse free. After sedating the horse with the help of a veterinarian, they were able to remove it from the bridge at 4:10 p.m.Although there was some soft tissue damage, the horse’s leg was not shattered.Once released, it could stroll along the trail, WUSA 9 reports
