The oldest female competitor to finish a 10-kilometer race is Mathea Allansmith of the United States. She was 92 years and 194 days old when she finished her the 2022 Honolulu Marathon in just two hours and twenty-nine minutes. She was born in Koloa, Hawaii, in 1930.
Since she was in her 40s, Mathea has had a strong interest in running. She stated in her interview with Guinness World Records that the Honolulu Marathon is especially one of her favorites since even the slowest runner may finish it because the gate doesn’t close at a specific time. Her love of running has made her tenacious and vibrant.
In 2012, Ida Herbert (Canada) became the world’s oldest yoga instructor, holding the Guinness World Records title at the astounding age of 95.
She said that doing sun salutations and certain yoga positions every day at 5:30 a.m. was the key to her long life and positive outlook. Ida passed away quietly in 2020 at the age of 103, leaving a legacy of mobility. She celebrated her 100th birthday in 2016.
