In Nakhon Luang District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Thailand, a dog became stuck in a concrete pipe at approximately 3:00 PM on April 23. After hearing the sound, an 81-year-old woman crawled into the pipe to help, but she became caught there as well. Rescuers battled to set her free.
Her son, a monk heard his mother’s pleas while watering his plants. He followed the sound until he discovered her in the pipe, at which point he contacted rescue workers, Channel 7 News reports.
Rescuers found that the pipe aperture was 6 meters long, 45 centimeters in diameter, and 5 inches thick of concrete. To get through the concrete, they had to employ tools. They began blowing a fan into the pipe out of fear that the woman would suffocate. The dog ran out of the pipe at that moment.
She was taken out after more than an hour. She was brought to the hospital for treatment since she was so exhausted.
