
Originating in the Chod region of the Czech Republic, the Bohemian Shepherd also known as Chodský Pes, is an ancient dog breed used for guarding and herding.They are medium-sized dogs with shorter, erect, closely spaced ears and a long coat that is mostly black with tan-rusty markings.They weigh 18 to 27 kg (41 to 60 pounds) for male and between 16 to 24 kg ( 37 to 53 pounds) for female, are 21 to 22 inches (53 to 55 cm) in height for male and 19 to 21 inches (48 to 53 cm) in height for female, and their average lifespan of 12 to 15 years.They are loyal, energetic, calm, and brave.
