On May 11, officials used some doughnuts and other treats to lure a bear that had been stuck up in a tree for hours in a neighborhood in Elizabeth, New Jersey, into a trap. Before the bear scaled a tree around 40 feet high, it had been seen wandering the neighbourhood. Authorities brought in a big cage trap after New Jersey Fish and Wildlife observed the bear after concerned locals reported them to a tree in the 600 block of Court Street. They used caramel spray, apples, peanut butter, and day-old doughnuts inside the cage. With the help of emergency personnel, the bear was sedated, removed from the area, and released back in the wild, 6 ABC Philadelphia reports.
