Originally, medium sized dog breed Beagles were bred to hunt small game in Britain.They have short, dense coats, they have tri-colored coats (black, tan, and white) as well as combinations of black, tan, red, white, brown, blue, and red.Weigh 10 to 11 kg (22 to 24 pound) for males and 9 to 10 kg (19 to 22 pound) for females, are 14 to 16 inches (36 to 41 cm) for males and 12 to 14 inches (33 to 38 cm) for females, and have an average lifespan of 8 to 10 years. They are active, intelligent, and loyal.
