A Temple in India Dedicated to Man’s Best Friend

Over time, Dog Temple in Agrahara Valagerehalli village south of Karnataka’s Channapatna’s Ramanagara district,60 km away from state capital Bangalore has grown in popularity among local and offbeat visitors. Hundreds of tourists visit the shrine every year.

A local businessman named Ramesh constructed this temple in 2010. In the Dog God Temple, there are two canine idols. The one on the left is white, and the one on the right is brown. These Idols Are Both Worshipped And Garlanded.

Villagers say that two of the village’s dogs have apparently disappeared. The village deity, Kempamma had a dream a few days after the disappearance. She urged the people to construct a temple for the missing dogs near her temple.

The small temple was built after the dream and dedicated to the two missing dogs, who are worshipped every day.Best time to visit the temple is between September and March.Every year, a large festival is held in the village to celebrate these two dog gods.
