
The theft of over 100,000 Pete & Gerry’s organic eggs in Pennsylvania is being looked investigated by authorities.According to the Pennsylvania State Police report, the eggs were taken from the back of a distribution trailer at approximately 8:40 p.m. on February 1st, which prompted the theft to be reported. The trailer was parked in Antrim Township, Pennsylvania.The total estimated value of the stolen eggs, according to the report, was approximately $40,000.Due to the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak, Pennsylvania and other U.S. states have seen a decrease in egg availability and an increase in egg costs during the time of the theft.
