Three men posing as auto sellers on Facebook Marketplace robbed a father and his son in Point Fortin in Trinidad and Tobago on Monday.
Local media reports, the two victims, ages 46 and 18, initially parked on the Point Fortin Hospital’s grounds at approximately 6:30 p.m. that day.The son got in touch with the alleged auto salesmen there, and they told the two men to get out of their current location and park in a spot off Southern Central Main Road.
They waited in the car after following directions to a remote spot when three men—two of whom were disguised and holding firearms, and the first of whom was unmasked—came up out of nowhere. They snatched their wallets and mobile phones. Then the men got up into the car that the father and son had arrived and drove away.
Using the GPS on the car, police said they were able to track the vehicle to Boodoo Street in Point Fortin, where they discovered it abandoned but no stolen goods were recovered.
