
After being taken before Portlaoise District Court in Ireland for allegedly stealing two Easter eggs, a local man was placed under remand in custody. On April 9, two Easter eggs worth €30 were stolen from Aldi on Kylekiproe Road in Portlaoise, and PJ O’Shea, 20 O’Moore Place, Portlaoise, was charged with the theft. The Gardaí argued against bail.
According to local media reports,if bail is granted, Philip Meagher, the defending attorney, said his 32-year-old client would promise not to go into the town center and to avoid any Portlaoise shops. Mr. O’Shea’s drug addiction was disclosed to the court.
