The most expensive banknote featuring Queen Elizabeth II fetched £150,000 at auction. Last weekend, at an auction in Noonans, the banknote was put up for auction.

Dated March 21, 1953, the note was put up for auction with an estimated value of £60,000 to £90,000. However, it sold for £150,000, greatly exceeding the forecast. The $1,000 note was issued by the Malayan and British Borneo Board of Commissioners of Currency.

The buyer, a longtime collector who loves rare and exquisite notes and anything associated with Queen Elizabeth II, was the ideal recipient for this amazing piece.
